ABOUT NICKI
Self-taught abstract and impressionistic artist, creating bold color combinations and movement on canvas.
Nicki developed a love for art at a very young age. She was born on the coast of South Carolina and the beach is still her favorite place to be. It’s almost like going home in a sense. She now lives with her husband and two children in a small lake town, Chapin. She Draws inspiration from landscapes,florals, people, and animals. The everyday surroundings. Painting life in an impressionistic and surreal view, Nicki hopes to portray a balance between loose abstraction and subtle realism by combining light and shadows and intriguing color combinations.
After the birth of her children, she decided she wanted to soak in every minute and made the choice to stay home with them. That’s when her need to create really began. Pouring herself into her artwork, learning new techniques and a lot of trial and error. She is a third generation self taught artist and loves the thrill of trying new subjects and methods. Primarily, Nicki works in acrylics but also likes to experiment with mixed medias.
With a love for interior design, Nicki enjoys working hand-in-hand with designers and clients to marry artwork into a space, creating a statement. Artwork can pull a space together. Make it stand out.
Her hope is that people continue to study her work, finding happy surprises throughout the canvas and layers.
She continues to draw inspiration from her “happy place”, Pawleys Island SC. You can see many coastal themes and colors in her pieces.
